Room 3 Art Gallery Trip

We were at school and it was time to leave in cars to go to the Art Gallery. We went with Izak’s Mum and Dad and Ella-Rose’s Mum. Jack O’s  Mum came with us as well. The Art Gallery is in the Octagon in Dunedin. We arrived at the Art Gallery and waited until everyone arrived.

When we arrived we were greeted by John and we had morning tea. Then John started by showing us very special, old paintings.
Some were about Jesus and some were about Mary.
We saw some animals in the pictures but some of the animals were very hard to find.

John then took us to a room where we watched a movie about animals in a circus. The lions were scary and we felt a bit sad for the animals because it wouldn’t be a good life for them. They were getting whipped and stood on.
After that we went into the Art room.

We drew some animals that were on the go! Then we coloured them in with dye.
The parents cut the animals out and they painted the shadows.
We chose shapes to draw around our borders and we chose a pattern for the background.
We rubbed the pattern and then we coloured over it with dye.
John and Megan hot glued on some flowers.
We loved our trip to the Art Gallery because we learnt about paintings and how to draw animals on the go!
